Eligibility Criteria For Free Solar Panels Scheme 2024

Subjective Criteria

• Volunteers have to be citizens of Pakistan & residents of Punjab.
• Volunteers must have a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
• Volunteers must own a house or have permission from the owner for solar installation.
• Volunteer with more than one meter installed at their homes will not be eligible under this scheme. There should only be a single electricity meter in one house.
• Only Filers are eligible for this scheme.
• Volunteers have never taken a loan from any bank and will not be a debtor to any bank.
• The eligibility list also excludes people already receiving financial aid/support through any government scheme, such as the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).
• Volunteers should have a monthly income of less than 50 or 60 thousand rupees.
• Volunteers should not be involved in any kind of power theft or illegal activity.

Consumption-Based Criteria

• Volunteers with consumption of 50 or fewer units will be eligible for having 500-watt solar panels.
• Volunteers with a consumption of 50 to 200 units will be granted 1000-watt solar panels.
• Volunteers with consumption from 200 to 300 units will be eligible for having 1100-watt solar panels
• Volunteers with consumption from 300 to 400 will be eligible for having 1650-watt solar panels.
• Volunteers with a consumption of 500 units will be eligible for having 2200-watt panels.

• Before installation, the units of the particular family will be cross-verified. For this purpose & registration under this scheme, the application users are directed to send online their Electricity bill reference number and ID card number on the Toll-Free number “8800”. 
• After satisfactory registration based on verifications and eligibility criteria, the Punjab Information Technology Board will hold and manage a systematic balloting. All solar panel winners will be finalized and intimated via SMS for the next process.
